The Israeli ” Supreme Court ordered Sunday the release of Shadi Suheil Khoury. His family reported that he is on his way home but he will be bound to house arrest.
A statement by his family said:
Although it is conditional on house arrest, restrictions, bail, etc, and the case and court procedures will continue while he is in house arrest, the most important thing he will be with us at home, our warm home, in the place where he should be, with Aboud (his dog), with all his family, friends around him, he will watch the World Cup and follow the matches with us, continue his education for this period remotely, and we will celebrate Christmas together.
Dear friends, we are thankful and grateful for everything you have done for Shadi, to everyone who stood with us, to each and every one who worked followed, wrote, composed, drew, launched campaigns, and talked about Shadi.
And our big thank you goes to his lawyer Adv. Naser Odeh. the calm, professional, and most importantly human.

Below is a follow-up note from Samia Khoury the grandmother of the detained (now released) Shadi Suheil Khoury
I promised you won’t hear from me until Shadi was at home. Well, it happened sooner than I had thought. The court session for the appeal of the District Attorney took place this morning and the judge ruled his release for house arrest. He is on his way home now, and the whole neighborhood is preparing his favorite dish of “Koussa wa waraq” (Stuffed zucchini and vine leaves.) House arrest might be a long process, but at least he is at home with the family, and his dog Abboud, and he will be doing his studies online, especially since his school has been so supportive. And of course, he would be joining the family in cheering for his favorite teams in the World Cup games. This first Sunday of Advent was a good omen and will remain a memorable day for Shadi and all the family and his friends. Thank you all for your prayers, for your great support, solidarity, and friendship, and for all the pressure you exerted, which I am sure has helped a lot. So, with this note, our nightmare is over. Have a blessed Advent season.

والسبيل الوحيد للخروج من هذا الوضع هو بالتواصل والنقاش الحر، حول هويّاتنا وحول التغييرات التي نريدها في مجتمعاتنا، من أجل أن نفهم بشكل أفضل القوى التي تؤثّر في مجتمعاتنا،.
تستمر ملح الأرض في تشكيل مساحة افتراضية تُطرح فيها الأفكار بحرّية لتشكل ملاذاً مؤقتاً لنا بينما تبقى المساحات الحقيقية في ساحاتنا وشوارعنا بعيدة المنال.
